BOMESI Accelerator Upfront at CES 2024: Championing Diverse-Owned Media for Economic Success

Cohort 2 concludes with Kargo-sponsored panel discussion on driving impact in media and adtech through collaboration and inclusion.

The BOMESI Accelerator Upfront took place at CES

The BOMESI Accelerator Upfront took place at CES, the largest trade show for tech innovation! The Upfront was about uplifting diverse-owned media and bridging the gap for economic success. With our focus on innovation and representation, the room was full of industry leaders and advertisers ready to explore doing business with diverse-owned platforms.

The event marked the conclusion of BOMESI’s Fall 2023 Accelerator cohort. The General Motors sponsored Accelerator program brought 7 publishers through a series of sessions focused on strengthening their infrastructure and capabilities to do business with the nation’s top advertisers. Each publisher received a $25,000 grant, working sessions with industry experts, and hands-on mentorship during the 12-week program. The companies included in the cohort were: Cuisine Noir Magazine, Kansas City Defenders, Map Happy, The Skanner News, TANTV, Upscale Magazine, and WHATSTHEWORD.

Following the Upfront, BOMESI hosted a panel sponsored by our partners at Kargo. The conversation, titled: How Brands + Adtech Can Drive Impact While Driving Impressions, further affirmed the intention of the program. This discussion brought together senior leadership from BOMESI, Discover, and Danone North America to discuss all things diversity and inclusion in media and adtech.

Jennifer Churchill, the Vice President of Global Clients Partnerships at Kargo, expressed the importance of collaboration by highlighting the need, “to drive impact across Black-owned media publishers, brands, consumers, and the Kargo family of partners. We’ve seen an important impact in terms of driving impressions and awareness with the BOMESI publishers and look forward to 2024.”
